Spring is here, the World unfolds, A gentle breeze, the air so bold. The Earth stirs, from winter’s sleep, Awakening life, from dreams so deep. Looking back since our last update, the progress has been remarkable. Today, Marble showed a spark of excitement, even letting out a little meow while we prepared her food - something she hasn’t done in what feels like months. She finished an entire bowl of biscuits and Whiskas jelly (with a little help from Dad’s hand-feeding), a first since her diagnosis. At today’s vet appointment, while her red blood cell count was slightly below average, her kidneys are stable. The ultrasound also revealed that her lymph nodes have shrunk, now resembling their size at the time of her initial diagnosis. We will take those as small wins - Thank you! I do feel a sense of relief, grateful that her last round of chemotherapy has made a difference. Still, uncertainties linger. How will she be in a week? Two weeks? This "rescue protocol" is more aggressive, and while it can be effective, remission time is often shorter than with her initial treatment. For now, we’re just embracing the present. Every day with Marble is truly a gift.

Its warm, protective aura fosters confidence, security, and a sense of tranquility. 🐾 Marble Update ⚠️ Sensitive Content After two days of IV drips, we were back on Thursday (27th March 2025) for a follow-up appointment at 10:00 AM, with a blood test and ultrasound scheduled. The drive to the vet was dreadful, as I couldn't shake the feeling that we were facing either mediocre or bad news. The blood tests came back normal. Her red and white blood cell counts were good, and her kidneys are functioning well. The ultrasound was a bit more complicated this time. The vet had trouble tracking her lymph nodes, as her gut appeared quite inflamed, possibly due to the chemotherapy. She noted that the nodes seemed less heterogeneous but couldn’t draw any firm conclusions, as it had only been two days since Marble’s Chemotherapy. The visit was generally light-hearted until one moment that really struck me. Since Miranda so thoughtfully gifted Marble a pack of PACK'N PRIDE Chicken Treats, we’ve always brought them along to compensate her after each blood draw, injection, and appointment. It was no exception - until today, when she showed no interest in the treat we offered. Maybe it was a stale piece, I thought, so we tried another. But she didn’t eat a single piece - which was very very out of character of her but it’s obviously not something we could diagnose, so we decided to head home. I’m incredibly grateful to have this place to feel safe and supported, and to be able to brain-dump here. 🤍 I’m also thankful for these beautiful Crystal pieces that have been such a comforting distraction ✨. Since my last update, it’s been a whirlwind. Marble had a nasopharyngeal fitting (if you can imagine, a plastic tube going from the nose to the esophagus), which undoubtedly caused some discomfort. For the first 24 hours, she would gulp every now and then. While it was minor, it still hurt to watch, and we found ourselves questioning whether we had made the right decision - her welfare is, of course, our # 1 priority. Tuesday: A new chemotherapy session was scheduled for 12:00 pm. Given everything that had transpired since Thursday, it was safer to do another round of check-ups before proceeding the Chemo. Unfortunately, the results revealed anemia and a sudden kidney failure. I used the word sudden because Thursday’s tests had only shown mild damage to the kidney layers. This was a major challenge for us, as a total kidney failure would be devastating. (continuing in the comment section below)

Healing Your Inner Child; 🥤 One @crystal.dept Custom at a Time Featured Here / Flower Agate Coke Glass Bottle Alashan Agate Healthy Tooth + Lodolite Garden Quartz + Rutilated Quartz Nuggets + silver hardware customization s o l d 🐾 Marble Update ⚠️ Sensitive Content There hadn’t been any significant changes until Thursday, 20th March 2025, when we noticed that Marble had become increasingly difficult to feed, despite our efforts to hand-feed her, and she also developed a slight temperature . This reminded me of the early signs when she was first diagnosed with the tumor, prompting us to take her back to the clinic for a full checkup. From that appointment, the blood results came back normal, and the x-ray looked clear. However, the ultrasound revealed that the two lymph nodes have become more heterogeneous, which indicates increased activity + aggressiveness and has increased in size by 50% in total. We sent the update to the specialist and awaited for his response on Friday. His recommendation was to change Marble’s treatment plan to one of the most aggressive protocols (every 3 weeks). He also mentioned that, based on the current patterns, Marble might only have 1 to 3 months left. Despite the difficult news, we spent the weekend doing everything we could to offer her a variety of food options to maintain her weight and ensure she received enough nourishment. This included a seven-dish buffet, ranging from tuna chunks and specialized diet (both diced and blended), to soup, boiled chicken breast, and Whiskas hand-picked jelly with crouton biscuits. As of Sunday evening, while I’m writing this, we’re still not satisfied with Marble’s food intake, despite our best efforts to hand-feed her around the clock. After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to proceed with fitting her with a feeding tube this AM. This procedure will require general anesthesia, which always carries risks. However, it feels like a “now or never” decision, as she will begin a more aggressive chemotherapy the following day. The treatment will be very taxing on her body, and we cannot afford to stress her further by worrying whether she’s getting enough nutrients.
